Dr Carolyn Letts

Carolyn Letts has a degree in French and Linguistics (Wales) and is a qualified Speech & Language Therapist (SLT). After a period working as an SLT in bilingual North Wales, she completed a PhD on clinical interaction at the University of Reading (UK). She has worked for many years in higher education as a lecturer in speech-language pathology with a focus on language acquisition and impairment in both bilingual and monolingual children, and has been based at Newcastle University, (UK) since 2000. Her research interests include child language assessment, developmental language disorder and early second language acquisition. She was one of the authors of the New Reynell Developmental Language Scales (Edwards, Letts & Sinka, 2011) including the Multilingual Toolkit which accompanies the Scales.
