Life, Work, Art is a two year project led by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and funded by the HEFCE Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL phase 4)

The aim of the project is to help students make the transition from a Fine Art course to a career in the cultural sector. The project takes on board that many students are likely to be self-employed entrepreneurs and freelancers with increasing numbers hoping to remain in the region.

The project runs until June 2005.

This site aims to provide:
• a description of the project
• a point of contact for practitioners interested in the project
• links to regional project partners
• information related to teaching and learning activities being developed within the project.

The site is primarily intended for staff who teach and support Art and Design students in Higher and Further Education. Other groups who may also be interested include undergraduates, recent Art and Design graduates and HE teaching staff with an interest in employability initiatives in other disciplines.
