External Projects Strand Second year students can set up their own project outside the university or set up a placement with an organisation (eg a gallery). These have included: • Placement with a mini-cinema (50 seater) that is programmed by Side Cinema a not-for-profit collective of four groups – the student, Matt Brack, has been helping with audience development, he is now being paid to continue this work. • Placement with Globe City (sister gallery to Globe Hub) – Sarah West has been working across all aspects of the gallery’s operation but focusing mainly on contact with the public. The gallery is based above a café-bar and club and is developing a new community of users through that environment. • Placement in a school – Naomi Clarke is working with two secondary schools in London and Newcastle; she is specifically interested in education based work when she graduates. • Placement in gallery education programme – Ameleia
