Patrick Byrne
Patrick is a hydrologist specialising in the transport, transformation and fate of mining and industrial wastes in freshwater (surface and groundwater) and coastal environments. He has worked in Canada, U.S.A., Chile, Peru and the United Kingdom and has received funding from a variety of organisations including NERC, the British Council, and the U.S. Department of Energy. Much of his research is concerned with generating data and information that enable governments and regulators to make decisions on the remediation of contaminated sites or the sustainability of mining and industrial operations.
