Justyna is a freshwater ecologist at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology with an interest in the impact of contaminants and macronutrients on the functioning and service provision of freshwater and coastal ecosystems. Her work includes quantifying, modelling and manipulating processes that control pollutant cycling between bed sediments and aquatic biota. As part of her PhD project, she studied the impacts of emerging wastes and legacy wastes on lake ecology, and the long-term recovery trajectories following pollution.
