Visiting Huaraz (Peru)

Dr. Nathan Forthsyte and Dr. Diana Contreras visited the city of Huaraz (Peru). This city was struck by the 1970 Ancash earthquake (7.9 Mw). The earthquake triggered a snow avalanche from the Huascaran Mount buried the town of Yungai. This visit took place in the framework of the GCA: ‘pump-priming’ activity in Peru.
