DaMaRO/DMPOnline Workshop

  • Venue: Rewley House, Oxford
  • Start: Fri, 28 Jun 2013 09:30:00 BST
  • End: Fri, 28 Jun 2013 17:00:00 BST

The Oxford DMPOnline Project has been creating a version of the Digital Curation Centre’s data management planning tool customized to fit into the Oxford infrastructure, whilst Damaro has been developing ‘DataFinder’ – a registry of research data produced by the University – and enhancing Oxford’s incipient institutional data repository, ‘DataBank’. The projects have also been considering how to link the various parts of the infrastructure so that data and its associated documentation can be passed from one service to another, to make life easier for researchers and enriching the information collected.

The workshop will features demonstrations of the tools and discussion of how they might reap benefits for institutions. All of the software and training underpinning the Oxford infrastructure will be given open licences, allowing other institutions to adapt the components to their own needs.

The workshop will be of interest to researchers who would like to get an idea of where the future of university research data management is heading and to those involved in the planning and development of institutional research data management infrastructure more generally.
