IMPACT Study
Welcome to IMPACT I!
The Improving outcomes in Advanced Colorectal Tumours (IMPACT) initiative aims to bring together all individuals involved in looking after patients with locally advanced, recurrent and metastatic colorectal cancer, together with patient and charitable representatives, in a concerted effort to improve clinical and patient reported outcomes.
The IMPACT initiative was launched in 2017 at a meeting at the Royal College of Surgeons of England which included over 100 key stakeholders. The enthusiasm for the initiative shown at this meeting set the ball rolling for further IMPACT events. This was followed by an equally enthusiastic Patient and Public Involvement meeting attended by more than 20 patients and carers who had been directly affected by advanced or metastatic bowel cancer.
This allowed a research agenda to be set which has been published in the European Journal of Surgical Oncology
