Sanne Velthuis

Sanne is the project lead for Growing Green Talent. She completed her PhD at Coventry University and has since worked as a Research Associate on a number of UK-based and international research projects including:

  • Choice and Progression in the Transition from Secondary Education - University of Manchester
  • Educational Pathways and Work Outcomes of Disabled Young People in England - University of Warwick
  • Beyond ‘Left Behind Places’: Understanding Demographic and Socio-economic Change in Peripheral Regions in France, Germany and the UK - Newcastle University (with several partner universities)
  • Powering Up Coastal Economies: Path creation in Low Carbon and Renewable Energies - University of Southampton

Her research interests revolve around the mutual interrelations between people and place. In particular, how to ensure that local and regional development is inclusive and delivers benefits and opportunities for all residents, and how to create the conditions for residents to best contribute to the development of their region or local area.
