GRG Evening Lecture Series at City Library: ‘Building “Otherhow”: Women Making Architecture’ – Katie Lloyd Thomas (Newcastle University), Wednesday 21st January, 5:15-6:00pm.
Given that half of us who use the built environment are women is it shocking that today only around 20% of architects in the UK are female? Perhaps instead women’s contributions to making architecture don’t always happen from within the profession. Using examples, this talk asks how they might in fact challenge its methods and assumptions.
Dr Katie Lloyd Thomas is Co-Director of the Architecture Research Collaborative (ARC) and Lecturer in Architecture in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University.
