Congratulations to Dr Lidija Siller who has been successful in winning further funding in partnership with Prof. Wenfeng Shangguan for an International cooperative project with the Shanghai government of China, titled 'Advanced Materials & Technology for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation from Water and CO2 Conversion using Solar Energy'. This work builds on the initial Theme 2 project.

A poster relating to Theme 2 was presented at the NECC (North East Chamber of Commerce) meeting in Durham on:UK Energy Strategy : Showcasing Capability of the North East to Deliver. The poster 'Nickel nanoparticles catalyse hydration reaction of CO2 for capture and storage' won 3rd prize.
A joint proposal for 'FP7 Proposal Theme(s): Socio-economic sciences and Humanities' has been submitted between Newcastle University & Peking University relating to Theme 10.
