Professor Ivor G Chestnutt BDS MPH PhD FDS (DPH) RCS(Ed) FDS RCS(Eng) FDS RCPS (Glasgow) DDPH RCS (Eng) FFPH. Ivor Chestnutt is Professor in Dental Public Health at Cardiff University Dental School, Honorary Consultant to Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and is registered as a Specialist in Dental Public Health. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and received both his MPH and PhD degrees from the University of Glasgow. As Consultant in Dental Public Health he works closely with the Community Dental Service in planning and strategy relating to Oral Health Promotion. He is Associate Director of the recently established Wales School for Primary Care Research and his research portfolio covers a wide range of health services related research. Professor Chestnutt coordinates dental public health teaching in both the BDS and MPH courses in Cardiff and is editor of Churchill’s Pocketbook of Clinical Dentistry. He is an examiner in the Intercollegiate Specialist Fellowship Examination in Dental Public Health. As a Churchill Fellow, he has spent time in the department of oral health policy and epidemiology at Harvard University. Ivor’s role within FiCTION is to liaise with Local Health Boards and Primary Care Research infrastructure in Wales.
