  • Fruit and vegetable consumption and body weight in young adults aged 17-21 in Singapore.
  • BSc (Hons) Food & Human Nutrition (NU Singapore)

In Singapore, a national survey understanding the dietary practices of Singaporeans aged 18 to 69 is conducted every 6 years. Recent surveys suggested that the youngest age group (18-29) tend to have the least consumption of fruits and vegetables. Pre-tertiary students, aged 17-21, represent a population group with increased food-choice independence who might also infrequently consume fruits and vegetables. This research investigates the consumption of fruits and vegetable among this age group. Participants’ height and weight are taken as a general health status indication. Their recent dietary intake would also be collected through face-to-face interview.
