Representation theory involves taking complicated structures (groups and algebras) and representing elements of them in terms of structures which are better understood (vector spaces) and we are able to more easily analyse. In this project we look to take a particular algebra and study it in relation to some classical results from representation theory of permutations of n letters. The first half of the project will be spent understanding these classical results more fully. In the latter half these results can be applied, along with knowledge gained from undergraduate modules, to solve these open research questions on families of examples.
