  • Food waste hierarchy: Analysis of a food waste solution for food businesses

The food waste hierarchy is a prioritised programme to reduce food waste in food industry. Redirecting food surpluses for human consumption is the second most preferable waste avoidance option following prevention. There are numbers of voluntary initiative campaigns direct food surpluses to charities. The aims of the research are to examine the food waste hierarchy and explains each level (including examples of organisations and what their job roles are), focuses on the second level(donate food) and finally interview with people working in food charities.
