  • Relative localisation between vehicles for vehicle-to-vehicle communication to improve safety on the road

The inclusion of driver safety aids in vehicles is becoming standard equipment to prevent serious injury on our roads. One important development in this area is vehicle-to-vehicle communication where each vehicle provides information about its location using GPS. This is essential to ensure vehicles are kept at a safe distance from each other, but location accuracy is reduced if the GPS signal is weak, such as in built-up areas. In this project, we propose a smart receiver and antenna that provides accurate localisation information from a weak GPS signal and has the potential to improve road safety.
