  • A landscape investigation of the multi-period hilltop site at Breedon-on-the-Hill, Leicestershire.

This project considers the landscape development of the hilltop site at Breedon-on-the-Hill, Leicestershire, where there is evidence for an early medieval monastery within the foundations of an Iron Age hillfort.

My research aims to better understand the complex connections between the different periods of occupation and their influence on the contemporary landscape. This will be achieved by a holistic desk-based study, synthesising the archaeological and historical evidence. It will integrate the relevant information including maps, aerial photographs and LIDAR data into a GIS model of a specified study area to investigate the development of this landscape to the modern day.
