- Understanding Microtubule Dependent Signalling in the generation of Cellular Asymmetries
The project I will be participating in is a small step in the line of research Dr. Rodriguez is undertaking, intended to understand cell polarity and its mechanisms. Cell polarity studies are key in appreciating this aspect of developmental biology, essential in apprehending the pathological conditions that arise from its misregulation in diseases such as cancer and developmental disorders. The project will investigate the role of microtubules involved in the process of cell polarity through analysis of potential regulators of microtubules structure and organisation and hopefully shed light on the pathways and type of microtubule structures involved in such processes.
