Many people are not aware that babies can suffer from stroke – but the risk in the first week is higher than any other week. A standardised early therapy approach after stroke in babies is urgently needed. Before introducing it, we must understand the variability in current management. We conducted online surveys to identify the current management practice by neonatologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists across the UK. Two sets of surveys targeted to therapists and neonatologists were prepared and distributed through professional organizations. The result highlighted the variation in management of babies and shortage of resources.
