  • Evaluation of care processes and clinical outcomes in pregnancy complicated by diabetes

The diabetes in pregnancy service at the RVI has been recently reorganised to cope with a major increase in workload. This project aimed to evaluate how well the service now delivers identifiable care processes. Multiple patterns between 3 groups of diabetics; Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetics (GDM) were noted. This project has led to a need to investigate the growth patterns of babies from GDM mothers further. This will be conducted over the next year and it is anticipated that the completed studies will be presented at the UK Obstetric Medicine Society Meeting and published as a paper.
