- Do novel rho-kinase inhibitor drugs alter the cell cycle duration of HeLa cells, and through what mechanism do they achieve this?
Rho-kinase inhibitor drugs 962B and Y-2 increased the duration of the HeLa cell cycle, reducing their rate of growth. This data suggests that 962B mediates this by promoting cell death of HeLa cells, and Y-2 acts to arrest cells immediately before they divide. HA-1077 was shown to have no significant effect on the HeLa cells. Limited availability of the microscope, and limited amounts of drug resulted in limited reliability of the data
