- Use of methylation profiling to identify genes involved in relapse in adult ALL
The aim of my project was to study two genes from a set of nine candidates thought to be associated with increased risk of relapse in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. These genes were identified though whole genome screening, and my task was to analyse the methylation data for both presentation and relapse samples of 28 patients using a range of scientific procedures including PCR and Pyrosequencing. From this information we attempted to ascertain how the methylation data upon diagnosis could indicate the risk of relapse later in life.
