Axon degeneration precedes neuronal death in a wide range of neurological disorders; preventing this may subsequently improve prognosis. Certain chemotherapeutics are known to induce axon degeneration. This phenomenon is known as Chemotherapeutic Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN). The primary aim of this project is to provide a quantitative and qualitative measure of the degree of axon degeneration caused by varying doses of the following chemotherapeutics: Oxaliplatin, Vincristine and Paclitaxel.
