This project will include the design, fabrication and testing of a tissue engineering scaffold. The scaffolds are used in medicine to aid the repair or replacement of damaged tissue within the human body. The focus of the research will be to assess the viability of producing these scaffolds using a rapid prototyping machine. This machine also known as a 3D printer works by adding layer upon on layer of material to build a model, the advantage of using this technique is that data collected from medical scans can be used in conjunction with the machine.
