Anorexia Nervosa is a serious psychological and physiological condition. Current therapeutic regimes have only a limited success in treating this condition. Previous studies have suggested women with Anorexia have a significantly lower ideal BMI than control women. This preference seems to play a significant role in the development and maintenance of their condition. This project aims to train non-clinical participants using computer generated 3D bodies, to increase their ideal body size towards a heavier BMI. If this initial experiment provides positive results it provides a potential way of treating body image disturbance in both clinical and subclinical eating disorder groups.
