- The Hellenistic levels at Kilise Tepe in their wider context.
Research will involve the excavation of the Hellenistic levels at Kilise Tepe, Particularly focusing on a destruction layer beneath the remains of a Byzantine Church. This will be supplemented by a comparative study of standing remains and other excavated sites in the wider area. Investigating the presence of the deposit at Kilise Tepe, will allow inferences to be made into past site activity where little is currently known. Furthermore, studying similar contemporaneous Hellenic archaeology in the greater Anatolian area will provide strong foundations for comparative analysis between Kilise Tepe and external sites. Thus, a specific study into the material culture of Kilise Tepe will be scrutinized against other archaeological evidence.
