Newcastle Experimental & Behavioural Economics Lab

We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers who use experimental methods and behavioural insights to understand and support decision making by individuals, businesses, and governments. We integrate specialist knowledge in economics, psychology, management and environmental science to develop innovative and leading-edge research. We champion the use of experimental methods across the social sciences, including laboratory experiments, field studies and large-scale online survey experiments.

We provide training in designing and conducting experimental studies, as well as in statistical methods to analyse experimental data. Our training portfolio includes undergraduate and postgraduate modules. Our experts frequently collaborate with external partners in government, industry or the third sector to improve decision making and generate societal impact. Our external partners include The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Northumberland Police.
