The main goal of my research is to understand the regulation of two key elements of the bacterial cell cycle (septum formation and cell separation) in the antibiotic-producers streptomycetes. The project is of both basic and applied interest and is expected to increase insights in the bacterial cell cycle and make streptomycetes significantly more attractive as industrial and sustainable production hosts.
