Natalia Yakovlena

Natalia is a Senior Lecturer in International Business Strategy at Newcastle University London, Newcastle University Business School. She specialises in research on sustainable and responsible business. Natalia has developed an expertise in the field of corporate social responsibility and corporate-community relations, especially in the extractive industries. She has led research on social and environmental implications of mining in Argentina, Ghana and Russia. Her recent research in Russia focuses on the relationship between industrial projects and indigenous peoples of the Russian North. She examines corporate and state policies towards impact assessment and compensations for damage from industrial projects to indigenous peoples. Natalia has published in international journals such as Journal of World Business; Journal of Business Ethics; Political Geography; Geoforum; International Journal of Production Research; Environment and Planning C. She is an author of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Mining Industries, Routledge, 2005 and co-editor of Sustainable Development Goals and Sustainable Supply Chains in Post-global Economy, Springer, 2019.
