Internal Project Meetings

 

The First Project Meeting took place in the city of Recife, Brazil, on 26 February to 1 March 2013.

 

The Second Project Meeting is scheduled to take place in the city of Cali, Colombia, in May 2014.

 

Meetings for engagement with wider publics

One of the main objectives of DESAFIO is to develop working relationships with a wide a range of actors directly involved in different aspects of the process of democratization of the government, management, and access to water and sanitation services. One of the instruments that we deploy to achieve this objective is the organization of local, regional and international meetings to create spaces for exchange of ideas, promote public debate, and otherwise fostering the process of democratic engagement in the search for solutions to the acute problems affecting a large proportion of the population in relation to the access to essential public services. These meetings include local events in the locations of the project's case studies, such as workshops and seminars, and also the organization of high profile national and international conferences. 

 

First International Conference

On 25 February we held DESAFIO's First International Conference on “Innovations and Challenges for the Democratization of Water and Sanitation Services”. It took place in the Auditorium of the Centre of Technology and Geosciences, School of Engineering of Pernambuco (CTG-EEP), Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife.
