Dr Gurdeep Sagoo

Dr Gurdeep Sagoo is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at Newcastle University, co-leading the Health Economics Group within the Population Health Sciences Institute and serving as health economics lead for both the Newcastle NICE External Assessment Group and the NIHR Healthtech Research Centre. With over 20 years of experience, Gurdeep specialises in economic evaluation, evidence synthesis, and diagnostics, with a focus on early economic modelling, adaptive trial designs, and real-world evidence to support timely health technology assessments. He has held leadership roles at the University of Leeds and Cambridge, contributing to over £25m in grant funding and authoring 50+ publications. Gurdeep collaborates nationally and internationally across academic, clinical, and non-academic sectors, and serves as Deputy Editor for the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care.
