Our Team

Cen Cong

Cen has an interdisciplinary background in engineering, languages, and psychology. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Linguist of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, UK. She obtained a first-class BEng in Electronic Information Engineering, with a minor in English at Beijing University of Technology. Following her bachelor degree, she worked as an Engineer at China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and completed her postgraduate study at Newcastle University. She is now near completion of her phd degree at Newcastle University, which focuses on the impact of emotion on cognitive processes in the setting of conference interpreting. She joined the Translational and Clinical Research Institute as a Research Associate in Digital Health in April 2024. Currently she is overseeing several projects in the lab and endeavours to make a contribution to the future of healthcare with digital technologies.
