Project Milestones

UNEEG Recruitment – First Surgery Complete!

  • Our UNEEG study has reached a significant milestone, with the first surgery completed on the 20th December. This project aims to assess the feasibility of subcutaneous EEG implantation for long-term epilepsy monitoring.
  • This marks an exciting step in improving seizure detection and management in real-world settings.

NoObesity Project – Co-Production Workshops Completed!

  • Over the past few months, we’ve conducted a series of four co-design workshops involving:
    • Parents and children who have experience with weight management interventions.
    • Healthcare professionals specialising in paediatrics, dietetics, and behavioural health.
  • The workshops focused on redesigning the NoObesity app, ensuring it meets the needs of families and clinicians.
  • Next Steps:
    • Handover the co-designed prototype and user requirements to a software development team for building
    • Refine the app’s branding and rename it based on participant feedback.

NMS Assist - PPI Group Formed!

  • Our team has worked hard to recruit a diverse set of PPI members for:
    • A Project Management Group to ensure that people with Parkinson's and their carers are involved in every step of the research
    • A series of co-design workshops to contribute to refining the NMS Assist system – an app and web portal designed to help people with Parkinson's monitor and manage their non-motor symptoms
  • The study protocol has been drafted to evaluate NMS Assist and is ready for submission to obtain NHS Ethics approval

TEAM-CARE - Nearly Ready for Re-launch! 

  • Our collaborators at KCL have been working hard the last couple of months to get the study ready for relaunch 
  • New recruitment sites are being set up so that the study has a better reach and a bigger sample size 
  • Our team is working on a Theory of Change behavioural mapping of digital interventions to inform our analysis 

CALM - Co-production workshops started!

  • The DEPTH AI team has worked hard to plan five co-production workshops with young people with bipolar disorder and clinicians working with them
  • These workshops focus on redesigning an app for bipolar disorder monitoring and self-management
  • Young people have shown a lot of interest and excitement in this project! The first workshop was conducted in two groups, and the app redesign process has now started in full swing

HBC Project – User Interface in Development!

  • The user interface is in development
  • The team is actively preparing for the digitalisation of decision trees for clinical pathways.

NEWs Project - The Technical Environment!

  • Study site (NHS Trust) is setting up the technical environment for algorithm development

We had a stimulating discussion about the potential and challenges of large language models (LLMs) in healthcare, discussing two studies that encapsulate the recent surge of discussion, both positive and negative, about the rapidly progressing LLMs.
