The DEPTH (Digitally Enabled ProacTive Health) AI Lab is a research group based at the Translational and Clinical Research Institute at Newcastle University. We undertake research at the intersection of disruptive innovation, digital health, software engineering, and public health. The lab develops and evaluates digital systems leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance clinical data management and enable health promotion. 

Our research spans various clinical areas, focusing on mental health, neurological disorders, and health behaviours. In mental health, we develop and assess tools to enhance support. For neurological disorders, we explore digital technologies for self-management. Additionally, we co-design and evaluate digital health and AI solutions to promote healthy behaviours and optimise resource use.
