Panamanian cinema and coloniality - new blog post by Luis Lorenzo-Trujillo

In April of this year, a group of researchers – María Lourdes Cortés, Mauricio Espinoza, Mary Leonard, and Dunja Fehimović – collaborated with IFF Panamá to convene Mare Nostrum, a two-day international symposium on the cinema of Central America and the Caribbean. There we had the pleasure of listening to Luis Lorenzo-Trujillo, a Venezuelan filmmaker based in Panamá, who helped open our eyes to the little-known world of Panamanian cinema. It is an honour to be able to publish here a version of that presentation, so that we can all begin to understand the particularity of this cinematography.
