The fuel depot at Lynemouth Power Station, near Ashington, Northumberland. Lynemouth is a small, 420 megawatt capacity, coal-fired power station that began operation in 1972. It provides power to the adjacent Rio Tinto Alcan Aluminium Smelter. The company has announced its intention to close the smelter and sell the power station in 2012.
