The anchor chain of the RMS Mauretania, which was built at Swan Hunter's Wallsend shipyard, from 1904-1906. The Mauretania was designed by Leonard Peskett, the Cunard company's senior naval architect. The ship was 790 feet (240 metres) long and could accommodate over 2000 passengers. (TWAS Ref: 2931/T/14)
