National Accreditation in Ukraine
In 2019 the government of Ukraine became the first national government to recognise and promote SOLE as an approved pedagogy. This effort was led by a partner organisation Partnership for Every Child (P4EC) and details of the accreditation process are listed below:
- Memorandum of cooperation was signed between P4EC and the Institute of Education Content Modernization (IECM), at the Ministry of Education and Science, is formally authorized to implement innovations into the educational process.
- IECM staff visited Medenychi and Valky schools to observe the use of SOLE in the classroom
- IECM staff meeting with teachers who have been using SOLE
- P4EC Preparation of SOLE Ukraine Manual (with support from Newcastle University)
- Manual submitted for accreditation for SOLE to be recognized as an instrument for extracurricular education and wider educational work.
- Accreditation approved and IECM have formally recommended the manual to be used in schools by teachers during extracurricular activities and possibly during curricular classes if the SOLE questions contribute to the learning of certain subjects.
