Dr Kazutaka Takahashi

Taka is a Visting Researcher of the Laboratory of Cognitive and Translational Neuroscience at Newcastle University. He obtained his PhD in estimation and control from MIT and took postdoc training in computational neuroscience and motor control under the mentorship of Dr Nicholas Hatsopoulos at the University of Chicago.

He has more than +20 years of experience in sensorimotor neurophysiology and computational neuroscience both in academia and industry and uses a variety of neuroscience approaches combined with electrophysiology, MRI, and computational modelling to conduct research in spatiotemporal dynamics of neural activities, sensorimotor neurophysiology, neural adaptations, and brain machine interfaces and to develop data analysis workflow for high density electrode data and multimodal behavioral data.

SCIENTIFIC FOCUS

  • Neurophysiology of sensorimotor behaviors.
  • Spatiotemporal dynamics of neural activities.
