Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator Grant
Dr Steven Errington has been awarded the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator Grant. This is a grant that supports early-career scientists pursuing innovative research in mental health and psychiatric disorders. It is designed to help launch independent research careers and often serves as a stepping stone toward larger national and international funding.
Steven received a one-year award to collect pilot data. The project will pair EEG with direct neuronal recordings in macaques, to clarify how local circuits generate the mismatch negativity observed in non-invasive signals. He will then look at whether changes in intracortical activity through optogenetic stimulation can directly reshape EEG markers of expectancy violation.
Congratulations Steven!
