Nigel is a Met Office Expert Scientist working at the Met Office Joint Centre for Mesoscale Meteorology (JCMM) located at Reading University. He currently co-ordinates the development of a new convective-scale ensemble system and worked on development of high-resolution versions of the Met Office Unified Model and their capability to represent flood-producing rainfall events. He has expertise in high-resolution modelling, mesoscale weather systems, convective storms and forecast evaluation.
