Dr Richard Jones (Met Office Hadley Centre) developed and subsequently manages the high resolution RCM programme including the PC-based PRECIS system, now used world-wide. His work has focused on extreme precipitation and the integration of high resolution regional climate and river routing models. He was a lead author of the IPCC Third and Fourth Assessment Reports.
Nigel Roberts (Met Office Joint Centre for Mesoscale Meteorology) is a MO Expert Scientist working at the MO-JCMM located at Reading University. He currently co-ordinates the development of a new convective-scale ensemble system and worked on development of high-resolution versions of the MO Unified Model and their capability to represent flood-producing rainfall events. He has expertise in high-resolution modelling, mesoscale weather systems, convective storms and forecast evaluation.
Dr. Marie Ekström (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) of Australia) has extensive experience in climate data analysis, primarily extremes and spatio-temporal characteristics of rainfall.
Bill Donovan (Environment Agency) is senior advisor for climate change at the Environment Agency and will form part of the Advisory Committee.
Roger Street is Technical Director at the UK Climate Impacts Programme and will form part of the Advisory Committee.
Dr. Stephan Sain (National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)) and Dr. Dan Cooley (Colorado State University) will provide advice on statistical methodologies and US datasets.
