The connecting principle of the work is of time-based process. The event will utilise/explore /animate the incidental spaces in and around the Fine Art building which are normally considered peripheral, creating a discontinuity with the conventions of formal exhibition and opening up new possibilities for the viewer to explore or participate in an evolving situation.

Some works are for a limited audience and require advance booking; softly, stolen/dream crawl by Fiona Wright - a 5 minute solo performance for a solo audience (Friday 18 Oct, between 1 - 3:30 and 4 - 6:30 pm). Booking is essential & will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

Some works will be durational and can be visited at any time during opening hours; The Listening Room by David Cunningham - a sound installation which allows people to listen very hard to the space they're in; Food for Light by Joel Fisher & Andy Thomson - the artists will present a series of works which last precisely 8 1/2 minutes, the amount of time it takes for light from the sun to reach the earth; Grow Your Own by Roxy Walsh with Andrew Burton - based on Daphne's transition from woman to tree, the artist will begin a series of wall drawings that will evolve as others continue them in the manner of Chinese whispers; Jorn Ebner & Volker Eichelman - will develop two slide projections depicting front gardens within social, educational and public space.

This time travel research project traces the descendants of the Loew dynasty in the North East to determine whether an ability and/or desire to create artificial life is genetic.

Some actions will be unannounced, while others will occur at specific times; Running Machine by Lisa Watts - a 30 minute lecture delivered from a running machine, whereby the live physical transformation of the performer's body is witnessed as her spoken text is progressively interrupted and distorted by exhaustion and loss of breath; Principal Connections by Matthew Sansom - a process-based acoustic event harnessing the voices of a large number of people moving through the building; Uta Kogelsberger - a video installation exploring the relationship between the individual and the environment and how sometimes the limits between the two become blurred; Tony Halliday - a vocal performance in the library without words.
