Co-creative Arts and Relational Care Network

‎Using research on co-creative arts and relationality, this project will help rebuild relationships in care homes that have been damaged by the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions, which often resulted in bedroom isolation, damaged the relationships that residents were previously supported by. The consequences, such as poor wellbeing caused by social isolation and the person not being seen as a social citizen, are still being experienced today. Relational care focuses on networks of mutual relationships, which mitigate the damage caused by lockdown. Care home residents, community partners and academic researchers have come together in workshops held in Bristol, Newcastle, and Norwich, to build capacity for relational care. This website documents the workshops and and their outputs.
