• Previous research has found that children's early success with a sentence like "Tom was surprised by Lucy" may be due to their understanding of the verb "surprise". 
• But what happens if children are taught fake English verbs?

What will children do?:

• Children will watch brief videos and animations before playing a picture-matching game with a cartoon alien on an iPad screen.

Who can participate?:

• Children aged 3-9 years old.
