Dr Wang Xiaolu (王小鲁）is research fellow of China Film Archive. He is also film critic and curator. Graduating from Beijing Film Academy, he holds a PhD degree in film studies. His research interests include film history and cultural studies. He also writes for The Economic Observer （《经济观察报》）and Southen Weekly （《南方周末》）. He is the author of Cinema and Diseases of Our Time （《电影与时代病》）and Politics of Cinema （《电影政治》）。
