Looking for funding for your PhD?
The offer of a place to study at Newcastle is made separately from any scholarship award to cover the cost of tuition and maintenance. However, there are many opportunities for funding available, which can be found in our Gradfund database. Gradfund enables you to search for all kinds of funding, from studentships to charities and corporate sponsorship - they will be the most relevant opportunities for your needs.
In addition, each year the School bids for postgraduate awards from research councils for a number of full-time places on our taught and research degrees. A number of studentships are also available each year.
The University offers a further 20% discount on tuition fees to alumni, and also has a small number of postgraduate awards. These awards are generally maintained at the same value as research studentships and are available for periods varying from one to three years.
