I am Chief Scientist at BirdLife International, where I lead a team to develop BirdLife's global scientific data, research and priority-setting to underpin the Conservation Programmes implemented by the BirdLife Partnership of 120 national nature conservation organisations around the world, and to provide a sound scientific basis for BirdLife's policy, advocacy and communications work. I have been involved in the development of biodiversity indicators and the assessment of progress towards global biodiversity targets for over 15 years.
