Catherine Machalaba
I am Policy Advisor at EcoHealth Alliance, where I work closely with partners from the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, World Health Organization, and World Bank on research, policy, and operations focused on the intersection between human, animal and environmental health ("One Health”). A key focus of this work is researching and addressing the shared drivers of biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, and disease to find multi-sectoral and cost-effective solutions. I also serve as program officer for the IUCN SSC Wildlife Health Specialist Group. I have a background in biology and public health.
