The general objective of this project is to improve value added in the Vietnamese agri-food sector. Specifically, the project aims to
- Undertake a cost-benefit analysis to assess the feasibility, and most promising strategies, for introducing Precision Agriculture in Vietnam.
- Assess factors that determine Vietnamese farmers' uptake of new technology, which is critical to improving yields and agricultural quality in Vietnam. This draws on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology.
- Apply Global Value Chain approach to specific fruit and vegetable chains to identify strategies for upgrading.
- Undertake a discrete choice experiment with consumers to understand market opportunities for adding value in domestic fruit and vegetable sales.
- Communicate the outcomes of the analysis to relevant stakeholders.
